By eliminating debt from student loans, mortgages, practice expenses early, Dr Fawcett was able to cut back on the areas of his surgical practice that he did not enjoy. While he thought it would reduce his income, he actually was not impacted that much and found that he enjoyed his practice more. Too many health care professionals get caught up in the doctor lifestyle and find that they have to continue working extremely hard to maintain it. This can contribute to burnout.
